Please join the Farm of Peace community Sunday 10/13 when the "traveling dhikr" arrives in Frederick!
Abdul Karim Pinckney (the Imam at the Farm) will share Sufi teachings and lead dhikr – a heart-opening form of worship that deeply cleans the heart and soul. It is a spiritual form of remembering God and healing that brings us closer to the Divine through direct experience.
This practice is open to people of all faiths, backgrounds and experience levels.
Following dhikr, there will be a performance by the Al Qamar Ensemble. This group is dedicated to performing traditional Islamic spiritual songs (qasidahs) to uplift both Muslims and those of other faiths, drawing on musical styles from the Middle East, North Africa, Yemen, the Comoros Islands, and other parts of the world.
Food: Potluck snacks will be served, including gluten-free foods. Bring a favorite to share!
The event is free; donations accepted for space rental and for the musicians.
