Did you know that Unity has books, CDs, and tapes in its lending library located in the room to the right of the lobby?  

There are hundreds of publications covering a wide range of spiritual, self-help, and inspirational subjects just waiting for you to take home and enjoy. 

Lending is easy; no check-out required.  Just take the item home and return when finished.  There is no specific lending time-period, but if you haven't read/listened to it after three months perhaps you should return the item to make it available for someone else.

The Prayer Chaplains at Unity in Frederick strongly believe in the power of affirmative prayer and are committed to provide confidential, prayerful support to our spiritual community in a variety of ways.

• Each day the Prayer Chaplains hold in affirmative prayer ALL the congregants of Unity in Frederick.

• Each day the Prayer Chaplains hold in affirmative prayer individual, specific prayer requests.

• Congregants are assigned a Prayer Chaplain who is available for prayer support via phone or email.

In 2013, Margaret Stortz, a retired UCRS minister wrote the following about the impact of change and new birth:

“The conception and birth of Jesus, as recorded by Luke, conceals and, to the spiritually wise, reveals a soul principle that will save man from death.  That Principle, represented by Mary [his mother], is love.

During this Lenten Season, this time of preparation for the transformation of the Easter experience, I often find myself pondering…reflecting on the world around me…and wondering what impact my prayers really have. How can I better hold that consciousness of prayer so that my world knows itself more clearly and with great compassion and peace? Charles Fillmore gives us these words on prayer:

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

Harriet Kofalk was a naturalist, author, activist, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many people worldwide.  She lived in South Eugene, Washington – her place was known to many as Peace Place. 
As we enter this season of thanksgiving and love, I would encourage us all to find those moments of peace in the amazing world around us and give thanks to Source.  I thank Harriet Kofalk for her life and her beautiful words.

In every spiritual path I’ve studied, one of the main pillars is the practice of silence – whether it’s called prayer or meditation or contemplation or relaxation or mindfulness.  It is the activity of being still, of heightened awareness, of feeling the Presence.  Beginning Sunday, September 7^th at 6pm, we will once again be offering a Time for Meditation at Unity – each Sunday, we will share 45 minutes of inspirational words and silence.
