Lent: Rise and Shine

In October, 2014, the board members found a Toad on the first night of the retreat and found the meaning and message of that Toad had special significance for us during the weekend.  This year, Board members gathered on the weekend of October 23-25 to plan for our coming year.  On her drive to the retreat, Rev Toni saw a beautiful blue heron in flight and took that as another sign for the Board and our meeting:

Here is one of the descriptions of Heron as a spiritual totem:

It is time to look deeper into aspects of your life that will bring out innate wisdom and show you how to become self-reliant.
Are you grounding yourself regularly?
Heron teaches that grounding yourself in the earth and your spiritual beliefs will help you discover emotional insights more clearly and more quickly.
Alternatively he could be teaching you how to become comfortable in uncertain situations and to be watchful of opportunities to arise so that you can quickly grasp them and move on.

Our coming year promises to be one of amazing transformation.  The Board, supported by the congregational vote taken at the September membership meeting, is moving forward with plans to find and acquire new Sacred Space.  We have found that pony in the flood and are taking this opportunity to repair, renew and revitalize our present space, blessing it as we do so.  We look forward to working with you all in this exciting time.

We are blessed to have Cassie Simpson again as President and Pauline Cilladi-Rehrer as Secretary.  Carolyn Rocha is our new Vice-President; Theresa Wyatt is our new Treasurer.  Debbie Scott and Kandi Austin will be serving as Members-at-large.

We have come away from this planning weekend with renewed commitment to the growing visions of Unity and look forward to sharing these with you.  We envision each of you taking an active part in stepping forward, together, in Unity.

Many blessings,
Your Unity Board
