Youth Activities, Events, and Updates
Thank you to everyone who was a part of and helped with the Christmas
pageant! It was a lot of fun! A huge thank you to Kyle Huth for his help, especially with the set! And another big thank you to Donna Grim for letting us use the theater at The Performing Arts Factory! The kids really got a kick out of
being back stage and performing there.
The school year has started and new things are starting for the youth at Unity!
We are planning and organizing events and meet ups for the Middle schoolers (grades 6th-8th). If you have any ideas or would like to help please contact me.
We are starting new with Youth Ed! As most people already know, we lost everything in the Roots Room as a result of the flood. We have started the rebuilding process and are very thankful for all the support and help. The children have given ideas of what they would like to see built downstairs (including a pool, secret passage, and a slide!).
As the new school year begins I’ve had a few parents ask me how to help their kids develop their spiritual essence. I love this question. Kids are naturally spiritual. They live in the present moment. They love unconditionally. They don’t believe their minds. They don’t compare themselves and think they are unique. They overflow with joy.
Spirit Camp was a great success this year! So much fun was had while we explored and learned about Native American culture. The kids’ transformation project was drum making. They did the whole process from soaking the rawhides, stretching them over the drums, threading them, and they even made the beaters. It was amazing to experience this with the children and it taught us all about patience!
Thank you to every one who donated food and items to the Loving Hearts Cafe! It was a wonderful time and the kids enjoyed showing “love in action.” It is a yearly tradition that adults and children alike love!
The start of a new school year and the Fall season brings excitement and new things! I hope every one had an enjoyable summer and is ready to have some fun with Youth Ed events!
The school year has ended and summer has started! We also just finished another great Spirit Camp! It was a huge success! The theme was Medieval Times with a focus on the 12 Powers. The children worked on a play as their transformation project and put the play on at Sunday celebration service.
Cathy Palmer has continued to visit us once a month to do Dances of Universal Peace with the children. We are very fortunate to have her do this and look forward to her coming again in the upcoming months. She is here the 3rd Sunday of each month.

We were blessed to have the children participate as readers in the wonderful lesson for our Easter Service this year. The children - increased their awareness of the Easter story. Thank you to the staff and parents for providing this opportunity to the children and for those in attendance! A treat for all...
Youth Ed is in full bloom this Spring. We have lessons planned for The Virtues of Respect, Excellence and Cooperation as we end the school year!
A great big Thank You to Everyone who contributed to The Loving Hearts Cafe on February 10th! Especially to Jamie for putting The Loving Hearts Cafe together this year! It was very well attended and everyone had such a good time socializing in The Roots Room. We have posted some pictures on Facebook. It was wonderful.
