In an article by Jill Suttie entitled “Five Ways Music Can Make You Healthier,” she states that “new studies are suggesting that music can be more powerful than medication.
Can you hear it? The old familiar Thanksgiving tune, “We Gather Together” and Bing Crosby’s “Happy Holidays.” It’s that time of year.
Hospitality - in Sanskrit, the language of Yoga, Hospitality is based on the principle Atithi Devo Bhava, meaning “the guest is God”. This principle is shown in a number of stories where a guest is literally a god who rewards the provider of hospitality.

Summer is winding down and its time to get back to the routine. We’ve spiced the music routine up a bit at Unity this fall. Check out the schedule.
Music is a powerful tool. Yes, tool. Tool may sound a bit cold and unfeeling to describe music. However, if you took a few minutes to think about all the ways you “use” music in your life, you will find just how powerful a tool music is. Music is always there. A flip of a switch, a push of a button, a touch of a piano key, and a strum of a string, music is there.
Musically Inspired by Nature ... I love the commercial where a gentleman sits at his piano trying to find those last few notes to his musical composition. He struggles. When he is ready to give up, he looks out his window, and there on telephone wires sits five birds, one on each of the five wires. The musician sees more than the birds on the wires. He sees a musical staff with five notes.

What is it about food that creates fellowship? Food and fellowship go hand and hand. Almost every event where friends and family gather, food is involved. There is something about sharing a meal together that unites one another. At Unity in Frederick we have a weekly time of food and fellowship after our Celebration Service.
Spring is just around the corner and the music at Unity in Frederick is “springing” forth into musical action. The Easter season comes early this year. The Love family will be sharing their talent with the community on Palm Sunday. Easter Sunday we will have the Unity Singers performing at the Celebration service.
