Movement toward Planetary Unity and Peace
Location: Unity in Frederick
Instructor:
Tod Ewing
According to Dr. Ervin Laslo world renown leader of a movement
toward planetary unity and peace, our generation is "the first"
that will choose "as to whether it will be the last." This was
not a gloom and doom statement but rather a call to action. Dr.
Laslo emphatically stated the "number one" thing we can do to
change the antagonism that too often exists across diverse
social lines: "Change your consciousness." He goes on to say
"One way to start is....to perceive that everything is one -
that what we do to ourselves we do to another, that what we do
to another we do to ourselves." So we must ask ourselves what
we do to each other across race and culture that prevents our
sense and feeling of oneness? In what concrete ways can we
change our consciousness? What behaviors and attitudes need to
become the new norm as we transform relations across race and
culture? Finally what can we learn from such leaders as Dr.
Laslo and Dr. Martin Luther King? We invite you to come and
explore this with us knowing as Dr. Laslo says "small groups of
committed, awakening individuals can shift the consciousness of
the planet.

Libby Hoffman, founder of "Catalyst for Peace", has been working

bring peace and reconciliation to people who have been torn
apart by years of violence and bloodshed. The film shows the
strategy in action and shows us the power of forgiveness. Libby
will facilitate discussion, utilizing her experience “on the
ground” in Sierra Leone, and inspiring us to see what a few
dedicated people can do to make a huge difference in bringing
peace to the world. The model demonstrated in the film will
challenge us to think about our own strategies for conflict
