Unity in Frederick - Growing and Going Forward

o        Fun & Games Night is a struggle

o        Pulling money away from Bldg Fund to meet admin salaries

o        Not enough money

o        Children’s program held downstairs – not accessible to wheelchair

o        Poor turnout for workdays – building and clean-up

o        Youth Ed program relies on parents; parents are also here for their own growth

o        0-3 year olds in group with older kids – all lumped together

o        People come, stay awhile, then leave – transient

o        Lack of volunteers, core group does a lot

o        Membership – Toni was the only one who reached out

o        Cannot create consistent internal music program – no volunteer to lead

o        More space for hospitality and activities

o        Small turnout for special services and recent concerts

o        Many people live far away – affects friendships and social time

o        Lack of diversity – racial, cultural, more females than males

o        Haven’t grown the congregation

o        Late arrivals – sometimes during the service – lack of early socializing time

o        Lack of professional bookkeeping

o        Bigger turnout for our fabulous classes

o        EGP – some aspects didn’t really work – poor guidance from consultants, poor decision making, capital expenditures issue

o        People seeking answers from Unity – who to go to?

o        Took a loan out for improvements instead of fund-raising

o        Our Prosperity mentality not fully manifest

o        Lack of harmonious dialog/solution with neighbors

o        Parking is challenging

o        Handicap signs not put out for parking

o        Lack of safe play space outside

o        Disappointed that not more members tithe – 80% of our income is from 20% of members

o        Lack of suggested curriculum/classes for new members/attendees

o        P&L sheet needs to be more understandable and consistent

o        Lack of support by Board/Leadership/Ministries to attend classes

o        Annual congregational meeting not friendly (in the past)

o        Board not open to new ideas, activities

o        Plateau of spiritual growth

o        Lack of community between parents w/children and parents w/grown children

o        Communication

o        Lack of direction at Youth Ed meetings – Leaders not listening to teachers and parents

o        Continue to do the same things, the same ways, no different results

o        Missing passion in the lessons
